“Short bursts indicate an ICE sighting. Long whistles indicate agents making arrests. If you hear the whistle and you’re undocumented, said [Whitney Hu, a community activist and organizer with South Brooklyn Mutual Aid], ‘you hide. And if you’re somebody who’s not, you go to the street.’”
As ICE Street Raids Ramp Up, New Yorkers Stock Up On Whistles
Taking a cue from Chicago, community groups have distributed thousands of whistles in recent weeks — a grassroots system people in other cities have adopted to help neighbors sound the alarm.

All those gov advisory boards just vacated will have national security consequences if not refilled with the most qualified experts for those roles.

We’ll see if party counts more than merit soon enough.

iTerm2 vuln really isn't anything to write home about and has several dependencies for working.
I also have yet to see POC.
If you query your hosts/VMs for /tmp/framer.txt and have no findings, don't let the "critical" rating set your teams on fire.
Patch, but breathe.

Your browser uses a psychological trick to prevent phishing attempts, and you (probably) never noticed.

Look at your address bar. Notice the main domain is in black, and the rest is a much lighter grey.

It's called the Salience Bias, and UI designers have used it for decades.

Imagine needing YOUR MOM go on TV and say you're a good boy (after she blasted you via email), and then promising NOT to drink on the job, being forced out of a veterans group for misconduct and STILL being considered for a job you're not qualified for.

THAT is serious White privilege.

BREAKING: #KOSA is officially dead in the House.

It's infuriating how much time was wasted on a flawed, unconstitutional & controversial bill that was destined to fail, when we could have passed strong privacy or antitrust
& KOSA will be back.

Dolly Parton is America as we’d like to see it; the Federalist is America as it actually is.
Morbid curiosity got the best of me, and I read this.

The argument is literally that Dolly Parton is a fake, destructive Christian because despite a lifetime of kindness, decency, philanthropy, and spreading joy around the world, she won’t explicitly condemn gay people for their wickedness.

Threat models matter.

When a platform/service/app tells you they are “private” or “secure” always ask “from whom?”

Criminals, domestic abusers, law enforcement, data brokers, and intelligence agencies are all different attackers with very different capabilities.
