I am so excited to know about the observatory results from #IODP #Exp405. We had to wait almost 1 year!
I'm on Chikyu again for IODP Expedition 502e. We're here to retrieve, maintain, reprogram, redeploy the thermistors from two borehole observatories from last year.

We managed to retrieve, connect to all 185 sensors to download data from the past year and re-program.

While both datasets can be used for similar purposes, they each give us distinct insights into the #oceanfloor.

Welp. I disassociated and now it’s June. I’ll share some photos and comics from April & May in a way to not feel bad about suddenly realizing half the year disappeared.

April was a lot of Texas travel. One of the trips was for the College Station, to the Gulf Coast Core Repository (GCR).
