Recibo con muchísima pena la noticia del fallecimiento de Linda Williams, probablemente una de las teóricas más influyentes para los que nos dedicamos a los estudios fílmicos. Pocos trabajos, especialmente de cine popular, sin una mención a sus aportes. Siempre será una figura gigante.

This isn’t talked about enough in Academia: how difficult it is to disconnect from work and when there’s finally a chance, guilt and shame don’t let you enjoy your break. I believe this is coming from decades of a culture romanticizing workaholism.
When in doubt, rest. When you feel you haven’t been as productive as you feel you want or should be—that could be because you are too tired to be at your best. Rest.
