a poem is an invitation to be (once again) (actually) alive

So, I’ve made the very scary and exciting decision to leave the MLIS program I was in and apply for an MFA in creative writing… 🙃

Prayers for me friends! Here is to the (soon to be) end of #January 2025 and new beginnings!

Is anyone willing to workshop a poem for me? I’m just getting back into my practice and feel like I don’t know what I’m doing but feedback is important so….here I am hoping

Get to know me:

As a mood writer, my practice is to write into my experiences and trust that whatever comes out on the page will become a good poem.

It’s safe to say I need one of these chairs.

Sharing this piece published in Foothill Journal because I’ve sent a few submissions out and need to remind myself I’ve been published and will be again. 🥲

And the submissions are in for the day -- in between classes, I'm hustling to get out there as many poems as possible before the end of August. I'll be moving soon and don't know where I'll end up, or where the poems will.

Sharing because it’s powerful and relevant. I can’t tell you how many online journals have to state in their guidelines, to please not send AI-generated work. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

Terrific, I finally made it here, on the day of the first landing on the moon's south pole. Where are all the other poets? I'd love to connect. Below is a picture from a couple summer's ago, of a painted lady on my orange tree.
