Merina coil- perimenopausal women are struggling to get this! NICE guidelines support it as HRT but Sexual health are only commissioned for contraception. Some GPs are asking women to lie to sexual health! Or referring to Gynae. This is costing extra money whilst symptoms worsen! How can this stop?

We're incredibly dismayed to hear this news. Valuing the workforce should & must be at the very centre of running a successful & efficient NHS. Recruitment and retention will worsen and the quality of life for all concerned will do similar as a result. This is a very poor and short sighted decision.

Honestly, all week I’ve been trying to think of something smart to say about the complete absence of women/women’s health in the new NHS plan, but I just don’t have the energy for this anymore. We are not a niche group, and you are STILL failing us @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social

A screenshot of Labour’s manifesto, promising that ‘never again will women’s health be neglected.’ Like, did they think we would just not notice?

#JournoRequest I'm still looking for UK mums who also look after an older relative and feel they've neglected their own health because they're so busy caring for everyone else.

For a really sensitive feature on #sandwichcarers' health.

Important thread on the financial reality of the NHS budget.

£22bn is a huge amount of money BUT after 14yrs of neglect, it's sadly not enough to make the impact required.

I'm concerned this analysis & nuance will not be widely appreciated & frontline staff will bear the brunt of dissatisfaction.
NHS England finance chief Julian Kelly tells its board: "Once you've accounted for inflation, [NHS] spending growth will be about 2% next year.
"That has to cover a pay settlement, all the activity we're doing, & any other pressures that arise."
Will make things v tight, he says

Proud of our 'horizontal writing collective' for writing this rapid response on @bmj.com. Take home: don't treat #LongCovid pts with #PEM with GET/CBT. There's no evidence. Time for real therapeutics.

Thanks @ellecarnitine.bsky.social @fvrhijn.bsky.social @bmhughes.bsky.social Xandra Westerman.
Our rapid response to the recent BMJ systematic review, according to which CBT and GET are probably effective for Long COVID, is now online:
