🧑‍💻 changed how the Internet works (sorry, not sorry)
😒 Twitter sober since Nov 2022
In an effort to learn React and Javascript, over the last few weeks I've built the site ofAtlanta.com. It's now functional enough that I'm telling you about it. The site is going to be a collection of categories of things across metro Atlanta. Let me know what you think!

I'm giving away ideas! Had a thought going through the Atlanta airport the other day. I'm hoping someone will see this and make this reality. I'd love to see this happen.

Idea Giveaway (Because Someone Should Build These Things)
Today I'm starting what I hope becomes a series of posts where I share ideas I'd love to see executed but won't have time to build myself.

Hoping to start blogging somewhat regularly. First up, why I failed at being an entrepreneur at
@unitedwayatlanta.bsky.social
(the fact that they don't post here but continue to post on Twitter is probably the TLDR of my post).

In case you haven't heard me yammer on enough on techtalkyall.com, you can now hear me on other people's podcasts. Thanks for having me on @jamrobcar.com and @mickmel.com!

Thanks @theatlantic.com for surfacing this whole Musk/Wikipedia storyline for me. I've never donated to @wikipedia.org before. But now, I'm heading over there to donate and quite possibly as a recurring donation.

At this point, why not just put "Be Evil" in your charter, Google.
Google Lifts a Ban on Using Its AI for Weapons and Surveillance
Google published principles in 2018 barring its AI technology from being used for sensitive purposes. Weeks into President Donald Trump’s second term, those guidelines are being overhauled.

How long until this administration decides the plaque on the Statue of Liberty is DEI?

Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!

I know everything is on fire but right now I'm taking some time to wipe my laptop and install Linux on it. I've missed having Linux as one of my primary operating systems. Still have Windows on the desktop but I'll take this for now.

You know the idea of Atlanta influencing everything is well known when it shows up on "The Price Is Right". And Drew Carey agreed with the shirt too.

Successfully transitioned the togetherletters.com database so we can upgrade and scale more easily. I'll now be looking to launch new features with a regular cadence. Watch out!

This sounds like an interesting new app from Ev Williams (Twitter co-founder). I knew it the last time around when it was called Dopplr. No shade, I'll try it out and hope it lasts - I think it's an area of need for people.

The final House tally will be:

GOP - 220
Dem - 215

218 seats determine control of the chamber.

*3* seats were gerrymandered by the elected North Carolina State Supreme Court for the GOP, thus giving them the majority.

Long story short:

I'd love to make a starter pack of Atlanta startup founders. Except I don't know who is here. Hit me with a reply if "Atlanta startup founder" is one of your things.

Just messing around and did some searches and found that there are some messages about Startup Riot here. But apparently they were imported in and are archived messages. Kinda neat. Hey wait, @startupriot.com is here?! That is kinda weird.

So apparently we're going with "guilty unless proven innocent" in Georgia. Especially when it exposes the unnecessary death caused by bad legislation. Got it.

Had an incredible visit to the Computer Museum of America tonight. The photos are a VERY small portion of everything they've got on display which is a small portion of their entire collection. I made a noob move and forgot to get a pic of their *working* Enigma machine. Oops!
