Anyone who saw this might be concerned about #CN28. @samlux.bsky.social has just clarified this is a misleading article - no plan to change the target! #Nottingham is still aiming to be the 1st #carbonneutral city in the #UK

We had a ward walk on the west of Castle ward this week with colleagues from community protection and enforcement. We covered Derby Road, streets around Wellington Circus and, of course, the Park Tunnel. We picked up some fly-tipping and bin issues that we’re getting sorted.

Another excellent mini climate assembly building momentum and ideas ahead of our full assembly later in 2025.

Thanks to Nottingham Women’s Centre for hosting and promoting among local networks.

It was a nice chance to speak on our CN28 progress and take interesting Qs

We had a huge team out for our Castle Ward walk today, starting out by St Peter’s. We identified and agreed actions on issues around litter, waste and ASB. It was great to see the new shops newly moved into Lister Gate and discuss the exciting plans for the Broad Marsh area.

We recently celebrated the renewal of the Friendship Agreement between Nottingham City Council and Vyronas Municipality, Greece 🇬🇷🏹

The agreement builds on the shared legacy of Lord Byron, a figure of immense cultural and historical significance to both Nottingham and Greece.

Nottingham operates the only workplace parking levy in the Northern Hemisphere, allowing us to:

🚊build a tram system
🚌 invest £120m in buses
🚲 raise £55m for active travel facilities
🍃 reduce traffic growth by 47%

Monet goes to Nottingham ✨

Tonight we launched ‘Impressions’ at Nottingham Castle, exhibiting 4 paintings by Monet, Pissarro, Sisley & Renoir.

Our team took themes from each painting to inspire a selection of art, textiles & objects from our collections.
