Why does 25% AfD among young men spark a thousand "what is going on with young men?" posts yet Die Linke 34% among young women generates...nothing at all?
Yes, young men voting for the radical right is an important phenomenon. But so is young women going rad left *at even higher rates*.

Brilliant reporting from @jimrutenberg.bsky.social and @nytimes.com great read, and an example of when the rule of law actually held in the US!
The Murdochs’ courtroom battle for control of their media empire has unfolded almost entirely in secret. But 3,000 pages of the trial record obtained by The New York Times reveal bitterness and betrayal that not even writers of “Succession” could conjure. nyti.ms/41fN66Q

This is amazing: it’s incredibly windy in the UK right now, so only about 10% of the National Grid is currently being powered by fossil fuels.

Brexit – an unwelcome truth
Labour’s continued silence on Brexit might just reveal an unwelcome truth; another reason, perhaps, to use the Brexit telescope?

More Brexit benefits rolling down from the sunlit uplands. We may soon have to boil our drinking water because the water safety testing labs in UK have all shut down because Brexit made them financially untenable. Another Tory clusterf&ck coming to light

The deep goal of bluesky is to decentralize the social internet so that every individual controls their experience of it rather than having it be controlled by 5 random billionaires. Everyone thinks they signed up for a demuskified twitter...we actually signed an exciting and bizarre experiment.

❓ Have you heard of "algorithmic aversion"? Do you suffer from it?
🤨 I heard about it this week in a convo explaining the reasons why Chat-GPT outperformed doctors in a recent study.

Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1k/month. A year later, nearly half had housing.
They also had fewer ER visits, nights spent in a hospital, and jail stays.
The report estimates that this reduction in public service use SAVED the city $589k.

Participants in Denver's basic-income program reported having more-secure housing, though results were similar in the trial and control groups.

I feel like not enough people know that Elon Musk first became wealthy by being so awful at running a company that his own management team mutinied when he went on his honeymoon; his own board of directors then fired him; and his replacement then turned the company into PayPal.

It was a 49% to 48% election.
Fascism won by a hair.
And it took Russian and MAGA bomb threats, a hoax regarding battleground-state police raids, an illegal Musk-funded lottery, $600M given to Trump by just 15 people, Netanyahu meddling in our politics, and Democrats staying home for it to happen.
