Love @mcmanlypants.bsky.social 's work, especially his Children of Solitude. @nicolegkurtz.bsky.social wrote a story in her Sisters of the Wild Sage collection that haunts me years later. And if you haven't read @lucybluewriter.bsky.social 's The Devil Makes Three yet, you should! #HorrorWritersChat

Pizza and generic cola. The antagonist of Phantom Delivery is an undead pizza delivery guy. So, it fits.

Also, coffee. The cool kids in my book drink coffee.

Time for a refreshment break.

We head over to the concession stand and discover that all the food and drink are themed on your work.

#HorrorWritersChat - What refreshments are we enjoying and how are they related to your work?

LOL. I don't know if people are gonna want to chance the mushrooms, but it is on theme for my story in Dark Spores. Otherwise, I think my characters are too busy surviving to stop for a snack. #HorrorWritersChat

I'd definitely love for Little White Flowers to get a film adaptation. I don't have specific actors in mind for who I'd like to play the leads, but I would like to see neurodivergent actors at the helm since my main character Alice is autistic and her brother Andy is an ADHDer.

Q2 - COMING SOON

It’s time for the trailers.

And look #HorrorWritersChat - it’s a trailer for your very own horror work, adapted for the screen. Congrats!

Which work is it?

And which actor is playing your main protagonist, antagonist or fave character? Share your dream cast!

OHOHO.

My delusional pipe dream is Sam Raimi adapting The Worst Summer of My Life.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead for Kasey
Bill Skarsgard for Kyle
And a gaggle of new, actually teenagers actors for the kids.

Yes, please! My most recent is a collection of shorts, so an anthology movie like Creepshow or Tales from the Crypt. Since they're all set in a suburban neighborhood, I'd love to get someone who doesn't LOOK scary but totally is as the host. Is Christopher Walken busy, you think? #HorrorWritersChat

Each year, I set a goal to read 52 books. That amounts to one a week, and I usually make it or exceed it. Looks like I'll exceed it this year, because I already made it and there are still a few weeks left in 2025. How many books a year do you read, on average? Is it the right amount for you?
