Senator Tuberville made public comments last week suggesting that a federal NIL law may include provisions to penalize athletes for breaking NIL deals. I break down why this idea should be stuffed in a pine box and buried for Forbes.

Senator Tuberville’s NIL Comments Are Misguided And Hypocritical
Tuberville suggested that the law would provide for an unspecified penalty for players breaking contracts. The idea is both misguided and hypocritical.

I dont actually think every AI-related brand or company is bad. I used AI to help make early drafts of ADS4000. I use AI tools to help some of my audio transcriptions. The tech does have use cases, imo.

I just think MOST of them suck ass

The common law has a lot of potential remedies for breach of contract... don't know that we need a statutory penalty for athletes (also rich coming from a habitual breacher of contracts)

Diego Pavia has joined the ranks of some of college football's elites. His performance on the field has been impressive, but suing the NCAA for antitrust violations is what puts him in a class with Reggie Bush. I wrote about the Vanderbilt QB's lawsuit for Forbes.

Vanderbilt QB’s Lawsuit: Potential Ghost Of Antitrust Future For NCAA
Pavia's lawsuit shows that the House settlement is not the end of antitrust woes for the NCAA as rules other than NIL compensation may still be challenged.

For an incredibly in-depth view of what's going on, I REALLY recommend this podcast by @andrewtorrez.bsky.social and @lizdye.bsky.social.

I don't know these folks, but they have completely sussed all of this out and I don't know how.
