The colour choice is from the Delta signal flag, itself indicating a difficulty manoeuvring.
When I was learning the signals my father enjoyed a regular Friday night in the pub followed by a walk home. I always loved that his coat was yellow with a distinct blue horizontal band.

These things here are emergency wreck buoys, and if you're thinking the colour scheme looks somewhat like a circus big top, just wait until you hear about the clown show that inspired their introduction.

Our Gardenia is thriving in NC today. This plant holds a very special place in my heart. IYKYK. The parent is blooming and the propagated flower and stem from last year is a success!
