I truly fell in love with this book when I was made to read it. It’s beauty and prose sticks well into a nice corner of my mind, this edition with this cover in particular.

General tips for reading comprehension in L2:
1. Do extensive reading. Read and read fluently non-stop for extended periods. You don't need to understand 100%, just keeping continuity and basic comprehension is good enough to get satisfaction out of reading and for optimal language gains

When ever I made some sort of web app and I have to use a framework it just makes me sad because most of the time these projects don't really need this complex reactivity. I just want to use good old JavaScript and some templating engine like handlebars

Shouldn’t css definitions most naturally follow the order of adjectives in English grammar? All we’re doing when we use css is describe how something (hopefully) looks… like an adjective

NPR says “a free press is the key to a functioning democracy” but if you have to say such a thing to get money doesn’t that imply that neither a free press nor a functioning democracy have ever existed together and democracy depends on a bought out press to channel will into bourgeoisie legislators

The Hawaiian endemic lobeliad, Trematolobelia kaale, growing on the boggy peak of Mt. Ka'ala, Oahu. Being the highest peak of O'ahu it receives significant precipitation, creating a unique insular habitat hosting several rare endemic species adapted to boggy conditions. #nativeplants #hawaii #botany

Even at its conception Utah is the strangest thing. How would I explain to a non-American that a state seen as no different from others is pretty much a holy land for a fringe religious group (and rock climbers lol) and nobody questions it?

Nothing but peak. Western light novel readers should be jealous.

Well, perhaps not because this book doesn't objectify female characters or depict them in weird sexual ways like most light novels tend to do.

I will break my own rule to not post about American politics to say that Zohran Mamdani is just going to be a disappointment to anyone who expects anything of substance from him. And I can't wait for him to slide into obscurity as New Yorkers find out the joy of broken social democrat promises.

なら has its own grammatical nuance, it’s not simply just the ば form for nouns

It is common to see なら attached to a verb (whereas western educators would dismiss this function), however, in its usage it has specific requirements on the tense of the attached verb
