Reason no 309 to love #parkrun - you can love the life of it .....
On what would have been my mum’s birthday, I did parkrun and loved the life of it. And when I ran past one of the volunteers playing Let it Be, I ran a little bit faster and thought of my lovely mum.

Reason no 308 to love #parkrun- you usually feel better afterwards....
Overheard at #parkrun: "I've never done a parkrun where I didn't feel better afterwards."

I endorse that view!

Reason no 307 to love #parkrun - you can do it with family - even long lost family ......
a guy in a creepy mask at #parkrun today. Asked if there were any tourists, the guy shouted out “Australia”. Then the guy made a beeline for a woman in a “Birthday” sash and a balloon with 50 on it. She looked very iffy, then he pulled his mask off and it was her brother she hadn’t seen for years :)

After a difficult day I decided to go out to the #cheltlitfest events I bought tickets for before life got hard. First up: @pauls-h.bsky.social talking about #parkrun. Then went and met him to say thank you for how much happiness I’ve had from it. What a legend

Reason no 305 to love #parkrun - you can have imaginary battles with "SomeGuy" without them ever knowing about it .....
Glommed on to Some Guy at #parkrun this morning as he was doing a good pace for me. Then we passed each other several times, the last time I got past him I promised myself I’d give up and walk if he went past again as I was hurting so much. So thanks Some Guy for the motivation.

Reason No 301 to love parkrun - Matt Gough
Matt was a fanatical parkrunner from Woking who just loved parkrun.
Matt was a great guy, who would chat to anyone.
We lost Matt this week as he sadly passed away after a short illness.
He embodied all that is good about parkrun. We miss you, Matt

Reason no 297 to love #parkrun - it's all about the chatting....
Before and after. The post-run high is evident, but that could also be the prospect of a pastry and many cups of tea. And the smell of autumn. Still very slow but really just getting out and doing it is the main thing. And the chatting. As always, thank you #parkrun.

Day in, day out, I speak to ordinary people who are organising to welcome the asylum seekers accommodated in their towns.

They befriend, support them, reach out to them as fellow human beings.

That's the Britain I know, the one I see around me & we never get told about on TV.

Reason No 292 to love #parkrun- individually it's an ordinary thing , that collectively is extraordinary....
Another parkrun ticked off @ Rutland Water this morning. Sometimes you just have to step back and remember what an extraordinary thing we are all a part of. Once more thank you @pauls-h.bsky.social

Out for my shift as Ruchill parkrun Director this morning. The addition of a tiny hop-on-hop-off dancefloor went down a treat and added to my mileage!
