My friend Mo is, like every Gazan, struggling to feed his children - please donate anything you can to help get them fed: gofund.me/5d6cf1bd

His daughter likes to draw, like I do; his eldest son wants to run a shop when he grows up, and his youngest son loves YouTube videos like every other kid.

Maybe it’s just the Humanities professor in me, but let it be noted that events of today (ahem) have demonstrated the value of being able to assess a large volume of qualitative data and do careful textual analysis with deep attention to context.

Asylum seekers, housed in hotels in Manchester, are reaching out in their own words to address the concerns of the local community.

Please take a minute to read their letter, & share it with the people in your life who need to hear the truth about the people they are protesting.

IMO Guillermo del Toro should be given whatever budget he needs to make whichever movie he wants every year or two. He isn't going to be around forever, which means there's a finite amount of del Toro movies that will get to exist, and we should be paving the way for his projects as long as possible

Today is the Workplace Day of Action for Palestine, a great small step is to familiarise yourself with and share The Palestinian Institute for Climate Strategy's recent manifesto: cdn.prod.website-files.com/6881c6f1848e...

They arrived!! I’m so pleased with the front cover, a photo by Patrick Baz of the late Mireille Honein’s Undress 522 installation, which you can read about in the conclusion. Thanks so much to ABAAD for permission to use it.

Also brought me to tears. I can’t tell you how many friends I’ve lost for supporting Palestine throughout my life, since I was very, very young. And now to see this? Old white grannies and grandpas getting dragged away for this cause? I can’t even articulate how it feels.
Never thought a whole bunch of white Brits would move me to tears...but here we are. In the end it comes down to a very simple good vs evil...nothing else matters

We need to stop using a framework of 'ChatGPT killed someone', it feeds into the myth of the system's agency & OpenAI's framing. The right framework to use: OpenAI is continuing to perpetuate an indefinite industrial disaster. The oil pipe is not at fault when it breaks. The company that built it is

Reform UK, which has a grand total of four MPs, was just given an uninterrupted platform for an hour and a half on the BBC and Sky News channels, in order to talk about its plans for mass deportations

When was the last time the Greens (with four MPs) or the Lib Dems (with 72) were given the same?

Labor is now our ONLY organizing asset that still has power & possibility of turning this ship in a different direction
