Time to finally dust out the 2008 Mac Pro and give it some new thermal paste! For fun, I added an extra 2 USB-C ports on an alpine ridge card, on top of a titan ridge card I had in there.
It’s gonna keep Mojave, and soon enough dual boot with a newer macOS.

PSA: Re-Cap your SNES. Seems the smd capacitors have finally started to leak on them. Handy job at least

After looking at this Psion 5mx I went for a hoke for others. Kinda surprised me, were tucked away all over the place. Bottom left and bottom right were mine from new. I think the others were bought for parts or repair but were never looked at. I think I have a 3 somewhere also, with the wee screen?

Anybody got any luck on repairing screen ribbons on a Psion 5mx? I know it’s niche but worth a shot! :) going to try and tack a piece of magnet wire onto it? Can’t hurt surely?

Ugh! eBay sellers strike again. It's not ok to pack vintage hardware in grocery bags.
Parts were missing because the box was busted open.
3D print parts, trim to fit, sand and color match. Not perfect, but better than a giant hole.

Imaging old drives using @bluescsi.com initiator mode. Works fantastically well. Really handy extra feature to an already brilliant device. Top job!

Meant to be refurbishing macs this month, but couldn’t resist sorting this amiga, didn’t like leaving it knowing the caps were actively leaking.

Stinky fishy cap change day on this Amiga. Got this one in early stage leakage, most so far are crusty but pads cleaned nicely. Made a good start so far but I think it’s another saved before it’s too late 👍

Escaped the other doom scrolling site and attempting to create a new retro only home here, the old place has became so depressing unfortunately. Not spending anywhere near enough time with my machines/consoles either and that needs addressed, need headspace.
