WELKER: “Trump & the DHS feed posted about ‘remigration’, a far right term meaning to mass deport non-white immigrants. What does he mean?”

NOEM: *avoids answering*

White supremacist ideology coming from their own DHS feed, and they don’t care. Any questions?

Marjorie Taylor Greene's resigning in time to get a pension is a lesson to everyone.

Most Americans don't get *any* pension anymore, but Congress gave itself a pension after only five years of work.

Our "representatives" aren't working for us, they are [barely] working for themselves.

The original sin: Five Supreme Court Republican appointees, many helped onto the Court by right-wing billionaires, open the floodgates for unlimited political spending. Then they refuse to police anonymous political spending they know is corrupting. This is the result.
How billionaires took over American politics
The current concentration of wealth is unlike anything in history. So is billionaires’ involvement in politics.

Let’s be clear: The DOJ has already been subpoenaed. They’re legally obligated to release the full Epstein files—and they’re still dragging their feet.

It’s a shame we’ve even gotten to the point of needing a discharge petition.

So many of us have been warning the public that RFK Jr. is going to take away access to as many vaccines as he can.

The December ACIP meeting is dedicating an entire day to reviewing “the safety” of the childhood vaccine schedule.

There’s not a shred of credible evidence that warrants this.

A great piece by Jermaine Fowler

I would add that our "immigration crisis" directly stems from our military invasions & extractive activities in Latin America. Our unending quest to feed corporate hunger creates the very conditions that leads people to flee their countries to preserve their lives

Read every word & share with everyone you know. This is real life here in Chicago. Americans need to know this grotesque reality & stand with us.
Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

This is helpful.
Before anyone gets mad at Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, listen to Kate. Justice Jackson didn’t side with Trump: she issued a temporary stay to prevent a rushed ruling that could let presidents exploit shutdowns to bypass Congress. Her move protects SNAP recipients & constitutional checks & balances

Food for thought....
Something I’ve noticed is there seems to be a sort of pervasive assumption that the status quo has gravity. That there’s a natural, comfortable way things should be and that deviations from the normal state of the world will correct themselves in time.

But as a paleontologist, I know this is false.
