NEW: @propublica.org investigated the Chicago apartment raid where kids were zip-tied and citizens detained for hours. They find:

- NONE of the arrested were criminally charged
- NO evidence the building was "filled with TdA terrorists."
- ZERO legitimate reason for DHS to rappel from a Blackhawk.

I dunno if this is in modern standard textbooks but I remember when every single mention of The Great Depression in any textbook in the 90s said "EVERY GOVERNMENT SINCE THE DAWN OF TIME HAS KNOWN THAT A STARVATION CRISIS WILL LEAD TO EVEN MORE HUGE PROBLEMS AND PROBABLY THE END OF THAT REGIME"

the republican party of texas is so funny. always in OPEN WAR with the fact that its cities are Mexican, Black, Blue, and Gay, and all the things they passionately hate out of their insecure positions as small white men who don't *do* things, only "own" things.
out here banning rainbows. grow up

Republicans thought they had a permanent hold over young men. They didn't.

Spanberger wins men 18-29 by 14%, Sherrill by 10%, and Mamdani by a stunning 40%.

there are no people who aren't sociopaths mourning cheney, and those ones are only feigning it. because they're sociopaths.

opposing genocide is "far left" as reported by major media, but dem analysts love to say young people are "far right" because they didn't vote for harris.
it's like every element of the establishment is firmly opposed to reality

Childhood abuse is crazy its like youre a baking pan and someone flung you at a wall so youre all dented and now every time you make bread it'll be lopsided. And people will only pity eat your bread or judge you for only being able to create imperfect loaves of bread. It will be like this forever

will we see a change when another big wave of people suddenly can't afford their antidepressants? or will each wave of suicides and covid deaths be ignored with greater and greater intensity until we're all wading through bodies

economy articles love to say that buying 1 croissant a week leads to overspending, chiding "young people" and slapping their hands, demanding that they be happy with their scraps and desperation

manipulative people on this kind of level didn't read about the french revolution in history class
“At the same time, more than half of Gen Z members say they are struggling to make ends meet, yet a majority buy themselves a small treat, such as a pastry, coffee, or sweet, at least once a week. That can lead to overspending…”

people think mutual aid is hard to set up but I'll tell you step by step how it works.
1) buy bulk ingredients. you don't have to spend a lot.
2) play The Beths on whatever speaker is in your kitchen.
3) cook with friends.
4) give single/double servings to people in your area.
5) feel great.

every dem analyst right now: "no, we shouldn't use campaign funds for running food banks. sure, people *might* think of us fondly when they go vote after we fed them. but it's more important that we get new cadillacs and more meetings with chinese crypto companies. voters don't matter!"

I don't know who needs to hear this, but if you have friends struggling through the shutdown, consider inviting them over for a family dinner this week. Make too much. Insist they take leftovers home. Some folks can't say they need help out loud but will appreciate the kindness.

if you've got money and you want to make a difference in your area with the oncoming food crisis please try to look around socials and google for Mutual Aid groups in your area. these are people who will give to the needy without discrimination and without capitalist agendas like a lot of churches.

we know the people flooding expat forums are People Who Can Afford To Move To Another Country. but how many are landlords? probably not many. I'd wager most landlords side firmly with open fascism and kleptocracy - I mean, it's their whole deal. brutalizing the working class for wealth.

my interactions with blue collar world lead me to believe that Lowe's and Home Depot were at first surprised that the raids would happen at their stores (idiot execs) and then resisted and then bribed trump like other CEOs were doing then just rolled over and now this is common at these stores.
For folks asking if they've made it *inside* a Home Depot yet as the business has clearly just continued letting agents do whatever they want in their lots, the answer is yes. This is from yesterday in Evanston.
