Oh boy, I can’t wait to start listening to their slow, ungrammatical, poorly enunciated English news reports!
New Control Yuan report auditing #TaiwanPlus condemns the hiring process for an English-language TV channel for prioritizing English writing and speaking abilities?

Claims that T+ needs to broadcast in "Taiwanese English" and not discriminate against local accents?

#STORMTRACKER: Fung-wong has been upgraded to a Category 1-equivalent typhoon.

It remains on course to cut across north-central Luzon in the Philippines on Monday, making landfall as a possible Category 4-equivalent typhoon just past midnight Sunday, then curve later toward Taiwan.

Hsinchu is no utopia: far less to do than in Taipei or Kaohsiung (boring); overcrowded & terrible traffic; rainy months that make you want to move to Taichung; basically it’s Taoyuan with more Bentleys & chip factories…Good job with baby production though! (Sincerely hoping the water isn’t polluted)

I speculate that Taiwan’s PX Mart chain—全聯福利中心—must be named after the PXs (post exchanges) on US army/air force bases in Taiwan during the Cold War. (Relatedly, Universities in Taiwan in the 90s used to have discount stores 福利社 that were basically PXs with subsidized foods, stationary, etc)
