First day of funemployment. Something I have learned is that if I so choose, I can watch “real life police car ambulance stories” style tv shows 24/7. There are SO many of them. It’s basically all that’s on freeview, that and strange quizzes with very elaborate sets.

Very quickly Twitter has become where I rage, X is the shiny smooth brained version of me and this is where I shit post because it still feels like a little secret place.

In my final week at current job and I wish they’d just let you leave when you’re done rather than having a long arbitrary hanging around period. I negotiated mine down but I could have been spending 3 months just…waiting. Or 2 weeks handing over and 10 weeks waiting to be fair

I really hope at some point soon people stop seeing “AI” as the hammer for every nail. Like yes it has a lot of interesting applications, but a loooot of what people are touting it for can still be done fine by regular non LLM driven computer software.

I feel like I don’t have the right “clique” for Blue Sky. I keep seeing folk say how lovely it is but I feel like a massive imposter here, and my feed feels very lonely. It’s like everyone came with their in group but I just rocked up with an invite they weren’t meant to give me.

@jay.bsky.team any plans for a Blue Sky API once it’s out of beta? Academic Twitter was dealt a blow by being unable to do large scale research on Twitter data, so be nice to be able to regain that ability in the new world

Finally addressing the FOMO. As a neurodivergent person the need to change social platforms is a wrench so honestly it’s nice to have some familiarity here.
