At 01:47 UTC (12:47 local) a M7.3 earthquake occurred just west of #Vanuatu. This resulted in a ~90% loss of the country's #Internet traffic, as well as a drop in announced IP address space.

I recently reconnected with a former contact who is developing a new Internet exchange (IXP) in #Guam.
IXPs primarily help improve Internet quality, affordability, & resilience at a country level.
But in the case of Guam, they can help at a regional level 🧵
