The {grafify} #RStats 📦 aims to make it easier for R users to:
* "plot great-looking graphs with few lines of code while exploring data"
* "apply colour blind-friendly palettes to graphs plotted with grafify or ggplot2"
& more. By @avishenoy.bsky.social

It's not quite ready for release yet, but side-by-side synced maps are coming soon to an upcoming release of the {mapgl} #rstats package.

You'll be able to create maps like this in just a couple lines of R code...

Honestly not sure how I ever survived without the {targets} #rstats package. Trying to do this with just plain old R scripts would be completely bonkers 😵‍💫

Finally, a shout-out to @drxeo.eu, whose climate circles inspired me (see dominicroye.github.io/en/2021/clim...) and to the maintainers of the fitbitr-package (github.com/mrkaye97/fit...), that makes loading Fitbit data into R super easy.

For years, I've wanted to create an #rstats package bringing the power of Mapbox to R users.

After a few failed attempts, I finally got {mapgl} over the finish line in 2024 (with some help from #GenAI).

Get started with an interactive globe in one line of R code, and build from there!

Did you know that you can get trained in IUCN Red List assessment for free online?

I have my undergrads do this as a semester-long assignment to understand policy-relevant science. You can do it too! 🧪🦑🌎

Candidate for most impactful use of local LLMs in an R environment. The lang #Rstats package overrides the `?` help function in R, translating help pages into your system's language, ie from Sys.getenv("LANG"). Also translates your roxygen docs. https://github.com/mlverse/lang 🌎🌍🌏

As if humans were not part of the natural world? Have we forgotten that we are just one species among many? 🤔 The fate of biodiversity is now so tied up with humanity that it feels more like biodiversity is among us than we are among biodiversity. 🙃
"It’s impossible to separate human health from health of the natural world. Ecology is the unifying science that integrates knowledge and understanding of the Earth, as well as the animal—human connections within it"

We'd add climate and social dynamics, too. 🌐🧪
