We are advocates for the voiceless, resourcing our community to do the work of justice, love, and peace.
"It is in this light that the veneration of Mr. Kirk is problematic. Public saints, secular or otherwise, serve to unite, and it is clear, in both the style and content of his rhetoric, that Mr. Kirk’s aim was domination and supremacy..."
Saintly Speech — Rhode Island State Council of Churches
The conversation around Mr. Kirk’s public stature has become confused. While his murder is clearly a moral evil, his public veneration is unwarranted.

"Patinkin failed to uphold one of the pillars of the Society of Professional Journalists’ Code of Ethics which calls on journalists – including columnists – to 'MINIMIZE HARM' and treat 'sources, subjects, colleagues and members of the public as human beings deserving of respect.'"
Philip Eil: A response to Mark Patinkin’s disgraceful ProJo column
"The column is so self-evidently bad that criticism almost feels redundant. But it was published, and so I feel compelled to publish a response."

With an increase in far-right Christian Nationalism in Rhode Island and beyond, now, more than ever, we must stand up and support our libraries and librarians.

"We ask Governor McKee to declare homelessness a public health crisis and to instruct the Department of Housing to release long-overdue contract payments so that service providers can release shelter beds and open warming centers.

It does not have to be this way."
