Sorry Gary... no trans-Atlantic trips this spring but I will miss Providence. It was one of my first CNU years ago... a very eye opening experience.

I was struck by a comment made by Wernher Brucks of the City of Zürich's Safe Mobility Office. He says that the goal is to give the "pedestrians ownership of the streets".

Crossing this intersection brings that idea to mind.

A function of design also a function of legal rights and regulations.

This study was not based on California data but rather on data from places all over the country.

"An increase in parking provision from 0.1 to 0.5 parking space per person was associated with an increase in automobile mode share of roughly 30 percentage points."

Lessons in urban redevelopment

Europaalle, A new(ish) downtown Zürich Neighborhood
I am pleasantly surprised at how well this new urban neighborhood has matured and integrated into the fabric of the city of Zürich.
