I post cats and comics mostly. Stray thoughts. Crazy rants. Maybe some writing.
What this article really tells me is that Analog Magazine and Sci-fi short stories in general are very prone to law suits and claims that they are based on people’s real lives because people relate to them more than any other media and the law firms have realized this.
On August 12, 1971, 16-year-old me mailed the first story I ever wrote off on its first submission to my dream market, F&SF. My tale was quickly rejected. On July 17th, 2025, I finally sold a story to that magazine. Here's why I felt I had to withdraw that story. www.scottedelman.com/wordpress/20...

I inceptioned myself.

AI narrated videos are annoying me so much. I’m so tired of them. Why are they everywhere. Who is liking them and giving them views?

The divorce law firm smear campaign is really hitting the news cycle all over again and people are just falling for it aren’t they? I long for the days when news stops being click bait.

The sun is up, the clock says 7am. I look at it skeptically and ponder whether to actually stay up or go back to sleep.

The only people who benefit from the concept of finite resources are those who control the resources. Most resources go to waste rather than get used. We could feed everyone on the planet, but we don’t.

The only resource we don’t have in abundance is time.

This looks like the MCU tricking us into not knowing the president went Red Hulk.
Dictator Trump has started demolishing portions of the White House structure so he can build his personally designed ballroom. No Congressional approval. No historical review. Using taxpayer funds. He does what he wants when he wants how he wants. It’s what dictators do.

Seeing yourself, your friends and your family in literature is probably the greatest part of it. It can be cathartic and emotional. It can bring you closer to those you love.

My biggest love language is: there’s this character I love that reminds me of you.
Remember your "first me!" moment? That time you bumped into a character who you connected with—who felt (even in part) like you? How awesome it was?

You might never know it, but you’ve probably written one of those for someone else.
Tell me your most life-affirming literary opinion.

So this actually happened on “Rapture Day”?
A 12-foot statue of President Donald Trump and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein joyfully holding hands appeared at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. early Tuesday, sparking outrage among Trump supporters.
