Farage says leaving the ECHR is the “unfinished business" of Brexit and that the UK is "not sovereign” while we are in it.

But Farage lies. And Brexit is a shitshow. So, “finishing” it should fill us all with dread.

Sovereignty without rights is dictatorship.

I can't help wondering why Mr Trump, who previously claimed he could "shoot someone in 5th Avenue" or "grab a woman by the..." well wherever and not lose voters is suddenly so concerned about what voters might think should they learn what the Epstein files have to say about him?

It's so sad, I was talking to someone today who's very angry about a local issue, they're blaming the Government, suggesting if Reform was in charge it would be fixed, completely oblivious to the fact that they only have this issue in the first place as a direct consequence of Brexit!

Reform UK supporting Matt Goodwin says because we are broke taxes have to go up

Brexit costs us £40 billion a year in lost tax income from trade with the EU, this is why we are broke

If you vote for Reform you're voting for the same people who made us broke, to fix us being broke 🤷‍♂️ #BBCQT

The thing about the current Royal scandals is when you think it would have only taken a helicopter crash or a slip from the deck of a warship back in the 1970s for it to now be "King Andrew" who was having to deal with them!

Don't mean to single out Nick Ferrari specifically but this sums up the problem with our mainstream media at the moment. Rather than simply reporting the facts about what's happened the most important thing to them is that whatever they say presents their own political viewpoint in the best light.
Spectacular show opening monologue from Nick Ferrari on LBC which manages to avoid mentioning Plaid Cymru altogether.
Let alone congratulating Lindsay Whittle on an historic win.

Also on @mrjamesob.bsky.social podcast "Everybody knows we have too much debt." Nobody challenged this. All money was originally created by the Gov. "Gov. debt" is another name for the money put into the economy which now exists as private wealth. If there was no Debt there would be no money supply.

I listened to @mrjamesob.bsky.social daily podcast from @lbc.co.uk . The top 1% pay 33% of the tax, that sounds unfair but I'm amazed no one asked "Do the top 1% have 33% of the income" If so 33% of the tax seems quite fair, if they don't not so much, but if they've more than 33% of the income...

Sorry @theipaper.com but WHY is this guy talking to us about what will make the UK poorer? He was happy to grenade our economy twice…
Brexit and then his batshit budget with Truss.
He should be in political oblivion for the mess he made and the price we all have to pay for his party’s failures.

Not surprising at all. 16M people voted against leaving the EU, OK slightly more voted for, but I doubt many of the 'remain voters' have since been persuaded they were wrong and for nearly ten years all the main parties have completely ignored them.
Mehdi Hasan, "Is rejoining the EU a Green Party aim"

Zack Polanski, "Yes it is"

And just like that, the Green Party have leapfrogged the LibDems

We all condemn Hamas' attacks on Israel but todays headline seems to sum up the war in Gaza....

"terrorists fired on Israeli troops in Rafah, killing two soldiers.

Israel responded hitting Hamas targets across Gaza, with hospital sources saying 44 people were killed."

I consider myself politically in the centre. I don't ideologically support any party. I don't like far right or far left views. I'll vote for the least worst option. Parties should be trying to attract my vote. Note to Party leaders, leaving the EHCR is going to make sure you get DON'T get my vote.

Many pundits today are pushing the line that everyone who protests the genocide in Gaza is basically either antisemitic or tolerant of antisemitism. But isn't that precisely the conflation of the actions of the Israeli gov't with all Jewish people, which is at the heart of this wave of antisemitism?

We flounced out of the EU on the say-so of politicians who lied to us. And what a total shitshow that’s turned out to be. The polar opposite of what they promised. Now the call to flounce out of the ECHR. By the same people. Telling the same lies. Has the country been kicked in the head by a horse?

The Tories became irrelevant after Johnson banished the remaining sane party members. Since then, they have continued their journey into the political wilderness. Anyone temped by their latest wheeze to ditch human rights protection for UK citizens must be beyond help.
Kemi Badenoch has chosen the side of Vladimir Putin and Nigel Farage with her plan to leave the European Convention on Human Rights.

The ECHR is a proud British creation, championed by Churchill, that protects everyone's rights and freedoms.

Every election is a sort of collective entrance exam into the future. It occasionally happens that populations fail the exam.

But for the US to fail essentially a resit of its 2016 exam, featuring the same questions, having studied the answers for eight years, is much rarer and pretty unforgivable.

Anyone else get really irritated with letters from TV Licensing? I've not had a TV for 12+ years. They expect me to keep telling them I don't need a licence. So many other things I don't have and don't need which I don't have to justify. But it's their language "You 'claim' you don't need a licence"

Dear Reform voters,

These guys are laughing at you.
They promise to make your lives better… but they couldn’t give less of a shit. You’re their playthings. Their route to power. When they’ve got it, they’ll be done with you. And they’ll trash the place.
Get some self-respect.

The rest of the UK.
Nigel Farage (Dulwich), Danny Kruger (Eton), Richard Tice (Uppingham) and Isabel Oakeshott (Gordonstoun) aren't 'standing up to the elite'. They are the elite.

The problem with our politics: I have friends who plan to vote Reform, I ask why, what do they want? They want funded NHS, potholes fixed, cost of living addressed etc., none of which Reform will deliver but the issue is I can't suggest another party to vote for who I think will.
