First time in weeks the night sky was not hidden by evil clouds! I went out in the snowy backyard for an hour tonight. Mars looked high up in the sky, shining bright and red and virtually at opposition!

Mars high over Parc Mont-Tremblant at 5h00 Dec 21. Last quarter moon gave a nice ghostly look to the snow on the trees. Super quiet and a bit chilly at -15C. OM-5 with 17mm f/1.8 lens. 13s exp. as ISO 1600. @rascmontreal.bsky.social

Mars high over Parc Mont-Temblant (north of Montreal). 5h Dec 21. Last quarter moon gives a nice ghostly glow to the snow on the trees. Relaxing, totally quiet and a bit chilly (-15C).

Large Magellanic Cloud. Again, during a family trip to New Zealand. Lake Tekapo, Dec 2022. Canon SL3 + 50 f/1.8 lens. It was spectacular to look at even in binoculars.

Flipping through some astrophotos from our family trip to New Zealand about this time two years ago. This is the spectacular Eta Carina region taken with a Canon SL3 DSLR and a 50 mm lens. Nothing fancy, just lots of short photos stacked together. Lake Tekapo, NZ.
