What gives me hope today is the earth itself. It was a beach day for me. Gorgeous fall day, butterflies everywhere, sea birds living their lives, the sweet stillness in the midst of it all. Happy girl.

Two things are tormenting me tonight. 1. The east wing. This is grieving me more than is even sensible. 2. Who the heck is actually making decisions in the White House? The president is clearly clueless. I’m going to have a martini, ponder these things, and pray that tomorrow is a better day.

I agreed with Charlie Kirk on nothing, except his right to live his life fully. He thought some gun violence deaths were acceptable. I do not. Not his, not the the 3 students critically injured in Co today nor the 125 on average people killed by guns everyday in this country. I am at a loss.

After a hard day, my husband& I are watching the old movie All the President’s Men, about Watergate.Wow. Does anybody remember when we thought that was as far as we could fall? Seems quaint these days.Still scary, but also quaint. I almost aspire to corruption that simple. Wow.What have we become?

Just watching Good Night and Good Luck. I ask you, were are our Edward R Murrows? Heck, where is our Cronkite, Huntley Brinkley? Do they still teach ethics in journalism school these days?Is courageous reporting a relic of Woodward &Bernstein? No. I know they are out there and will not bow the knee.

Another day in the USA, 4 dead, gunman on the run. Officials don’t even bother with thoughts &prayers anymore. Until those prayers come with sane policy, they are meaningless.This from someone who actually prays, not to change God, but for God to change me & give my prayers feet. Sick of this evil.

I just melted down over everything and being fed up completely with men who do heinous things not being held accountable.My husband, the soul of wisdom, said, “We need to watch Nine to Five and drink martinis.”The man is a saint. Tomorrow I start again. Tonight I string up Dabney Coleman.

Here is what I have to say: if people had listened to women in the first place we would not be where we are today with POTUS or SCOTUS. I am so SICK of men not being held accountable unless they are brown or black and did nothing to begin with! I am incandescent with rage tonight.
