The God I know has nothing to do with leading us into a war that will bring more death in a place where innocents are dying daily. There is nothing Christian about this. The invocation of God’s name is straight up blasphemy. Christ have mercy.

I’m absolutely certain I’m going to get called “political” for praying for Ukraine today, even though they’ve been on this prayer list since the beginning of the Russian invasion. As if this war suddenly became political Friday at noon.

Had a procedure yesterday where clear liquid diet is required the day before. Everything was fine. But in the prep bed next to me there was a woman who ate a sandwich the day before and got reamed out by the doctor. She also said she smoked weed that morning. The prep sucked. Why risk doing it 2x?

Exactly 1 year ago today, our Annual Conference held our special called session for disaffiliations. It was painful, and it was terrible to be a displaced pastor as a Provisional Elder, but God has also redeemed that and is still doing so. Hold space for both things to coexist: trauma and redemption

Just got emailed from a former parishioner that he thinks my pet loss grief (from September) is the devil setting up a stronghold in my life in the form of an idol. In case you were wondering why people are leaving the church, this is literally the reason.

I wrote this because I'm struggling with wanting to distance myself from "them" and yet othering and separation and echo-chambering (1) skirts my responsibility for the collective and (2) has not yielded the desired effects. Also, (3) it still might be necessary to protect sanity. #Exvangelical
