Sad to hear that Lenny Wilkens has passed. He was a class act — a player, coach and player-coach. I remember the crowd singing “We Are the Champions” after he coached the SuperSonics to win the 1979 finals.

Yesterday I met with Sea-Tac air traffic controllers and thanked them for their steadfast and invaluable work keeping the flying public safe. Controllers should not have to worry about getting a second job or feeding their families while protecting travelers.

People, not unregulated AI, should lead health care decisions. I am proud to co-lead legislation to stop the implementation of the WISeR model in Medicare, and I will continue to fight back against the Trump administration’s efforts to privatize Medicare. www.statnews.com/2025/11/06/m...

Stopped by the Lynnwood Library to donate books from the Library of Congress and see the Día de Muertos altar.

I volunteered this morning with Lynnwood Food Bank. The Trump administration must comply with yesterday’s court order and release $5.5 billion in funding for food assistance.

I am glad to hear that Jackie Merlos has been released from ICE detention and reunited with her children. I will continue to fight for everyone’s due process rights and to hold ICE accountable to the law.
Jackie Merlos was disappeared and detained with her U.S. citizen children for weeks in a windowless cell. She then faced months of unlawful detention in ICE custody.

Today, because of Oregonians’ refusal to stay silent, she is home with her kids in Portland.
