Spoke about latest B.C. jobs numbers on Global News right after they were released early today. I took a deeper look and things are not as good as they appear on the surface. Big losses for full-time employment, lower participation rates skewing unemployment rate, etc. www.biv.com/news/economy...

Just spoke on @globalnews.ca a few moments ago about the latest B.C. jobs numbers. Nothing much to celebrate other than the province didn’t lose jobs when still so many question marks were hovering around tariffs. Real litmus test comes in next month’s StatCan data.

14-year BIV vet Nelson Bennett retires this week. The resources beat is one of the toughest to cover, but he has always managed to distill incredibly complex issues into something everyone could understand. I’ll miss his ability to rattle off story ideas and share yarns about life as a rock drummer.
