Gute Nachrichten aus Vestmanna!

Eine Gruppe von Grindwalen wurde in der Nähe der Stadt gesichtet - aber im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen Fällen wurden sie nicht an Land getrieben und getötet.

Die Behörden erklärten, es gebe noch reichlich Grindwalfleisch vom letzten Grindadráp in Leynar.

Aktuell: 2025 wird in Island kein Wal getötet. Hauptwalfänger Loftsson stoppt wegen mangelnder Nachfrage, Export nach Japan bricht ein. Der Widerstand wirkt – doch wir kämpfen weiter, bis Walfang in Island endgültig verboten ist.

Am Wochenende waren wir beim Südstadtfest in Köln und der Ökofete in Leipzig.

Trotz Hitze und Unwetter gab es starke Gespräche, eine klare Haltung gegen den Walfang und großes Interesse – besonders von Kindern.
