i cannot emphasize enough that technology does not make people stupid. that is simply not how brains work. if you are going around saying people are cognitively damaged or degenerating bc of ai or any other tool you are buying into ableist rhetoric

Was wondering why this is raising so many hackles and I realized—games is having this moment. The lack of “good art” means the lack of white art. This is their same rhetoric. I think we’re all mobilized because that strain of racist reactionary vitriol has breached indie comics of all places

It goes back to that Groundings episode I posted on Monday, they talk about this -- the habit of the internet pulling academic theories out of a critical argument framework and turning them into facts. White guilt isn't a fact of life, and it isn't literally a white person feeling guilty.

Since I read that comic I've been pondering the history of "white guilt," which is an academic theory about a hurdle for teaching anti-racism to willing white people, guilt being a roadblock to necessary personal unpacking. It isn't ..... whatever that is
