I’m not asking Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries become Zohran Mamdani, but could they be just a little bit more like Brad Lander?
In the past two weeks, we seemed to watch Brad Lander evolve in front of our very eyes: From a measured civil servant who releases long, detailed reports, to a ball-busting, rollercoaster-riding mayoral candidate who practices civil disobedience and curses out Cuomo.
Brad Lander, Unfiltered and Unplugged
He didn't win the Democratic mayoral primary… but he won a lot of New Yorkers' hearts.

Now here’s an explanation we can all get our heads around…
LLMs are less like Jeopardy contestants (who “win” if they get the right answer) and more like Family Feud contestants (who “win” if they guess the most popular answer).
Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

Good morning, NYC. We have some very exciting news to share.

This is insane. We don’t have to do this.

The primary is June 24. You will have 5 slots on your ranked-choice ballot, and there are more than 5 good choices: Lander, A. Adams, Myrie, Mamdani, Stringer, and Ramos.

DON’T RANK CUOMO!

Those trying to understand the tariffs as economic policy are dangerously naive.

No, the tariffs are a tool to collapse our democracy. A means to compel loyalty from every business that will need to petition Trump for relief.
