Bernie Sanders made a surprise appearance at Coachella 2025 last night.

So he went from the LA rally to Coachella. He's 83 and fighting like this. This should be an inspiration to all of us. If he can do this, we can all do a little more.

Sen. Booker’s speech was a substantive and moral account of this moment. He did not read the phone book. He did not babble.
For 24 hours @booker.senate.gov laid out a detailed, damning, and critical narrative of truth, history, politics, morality, humanity.

What will you do?

The bigger question we should be asking is: Why are Trump officials using Signal for their communications instead of formal, traceable channels?

The answer seems clear — to avoid transparency.

True story... My husband has never been a fan of social media, but look at this! He understands the assignment. #nih #sciencematters #neuroscience
Anyone who knows me knows that I am generally not a proponent of social media. However, it is clear that as a scientist with federal funding, it is critical that I can explain the importance of my research and disseminate information more effectively. So I am taking the plunge.

Elon is upset that the public is staying informed. So many threats from him lately. We are public servants, not Elon servants.

The battle of our day is no longer about Democrats versus Republicans or left versus right.

The choice right now is democracy or dictatorship. And we're sliding faster than I ever thought possible into the latter.

Everyone must choose which side they’re on.

Do not let Trump gaslight you into believing he has a mandate or is all powerful.

Most Americans don't support his agenda.

There will be backlash — and we must make sure it is swift.

I’m so fucking ashamed of my country.
This just happened in the Oval Office:

Trump, Vance, and Zelenskyy all raised their voices, shouting over each out.

Trump and Vance told Zelenskyy: "You have to be thankful. You don't have the cards."

Trump mocked Zelenskyy – to his face, saying, "I don't want a cease fire."

Boycotts are taking hold. Protests are on the rise. Federal courts are hitting back. The Trump-Musk-Vance regime's popularity is plunging and DOGE is losing credibility. In these dark times, it's important to recognize that people are fighting back. Join them.

NIH doesn’t just support infectious disease research—it drives breakthroughs in cancer, childhood diseases, heart disease, diabetes & more.

Thanks to NIH, we have:
💉 Cancer immunotherapy
❤️ Cholesterol-lowering statins
🩸 Insulin for diabetes

Investing in NIH = investing in life-saving discoveries.

#nih cuts affect us all, not just the researchers.
Research universities are often the largest employers in their region. They are often the primary health care providers to communities. This funding shift will not only reduce US research leadership, it will put working people out of work and reduce healthcare access.
Excellent 🧵 on this evening's NIH announcement of a dramatic reduction in indirect rates for research institutions, which amounts to a generational restructuring of the US research and development ecosystem. These cuts are effective immediately, not just for new grants but for existing ones.
