The eBay special fountain ken buy direct from Japan is here. I don't normally go for bold colours I don't mind this mustard yellow Pilot Vanishing Point. So much cheaper than UK prices and writes like a dream - plus that clever mechanism is amazing. Didn't come with a converter but no hardship.

Been having a periodic play through of Freelancer and it's clear it's nearing the point it won't be playable anymore. It's proper early 2000s coding with everything being constructed in text value .ini files jury rigged like a christmas tree, and windows 11 absolutely *hates* everything about it

Give Xiaomi their due, the fix shit fast. My phone got the new hyperOS 3.0 update 6 days ago which saw battery life tank - and they've just pushed an update to fix it and a host of other bugs etc. My last experience with Samsung etc saw similar updates take at least twice as long

Apropos of nothing, don't buy a Ford Puma 1.0 turbo (hire car for the weekend). Wobbly on the motorway at anything approaching normal speed in wind, shockingly long gearing so it feels lifelessly slow, unintelligible controls which feel distinctly not-Ford like, horrid seats. Nice infotainment tho.

Lovely few days in Dundee and surrounding parts with @jakefraser.bsky.social and @iankey.bsky.social (ft Jake's camera work at the baltic Dundee Law). I love Scotland more than any other part of the UK and it saddens me to leave every time.

Picked up the wrong fountain pen case when I came to Scotland so instead of practical, flight surviving pens I've got my two 90 year old Sheaffers that have predictably burped their ink sacs all inside their lids. No massive leaks into the abyss but sadly now empty.

Channelling the autumn vibes with a TWSBI Diamond 580ALR Affogato and KWZ old gold ink. I don't generally favour brown tones but it feels like a good match and very much fits the weather outside.
