The provision of law barring ICE from turning away members of Congress is part of the annual appropriations bill. With the FY25 bill now expired and the government shut down, ICE is now saying they are no longer obligated to allow members entry; and their congressional visit process isn’t funded.
In Congressional Dem lawsuit against ICE for prohibiting their oversight entry, ICE provides a filing abt what is funding detention operations during shutdown. But it doesn't specify what is going where in how much.
