LifeLabs is being sold to an American company. That means Canadians’ most sensitive health data will be subject to U.S. law.

Should we be comfortable with Donald Trump’s government having access to our medical history?

This is a big deal. Hoping that inter-provincial regulations follow suit.
U.S.-trained and certified doctors can now become fully licensed in B.C. - no extra exams, assessments, or training needed. Plus, internationally trained doctors no longer need the Licentiate of the MCC to qualify. The door is wide open! To learn more: news.gov.bc.ca/releases/202... #bchealthcare

In healthcare, cutting costs (quickly) oftentimes means making the least bad decision. That’s not an easy task.

Advocacy matters.

Canadians 🇨🇦 don’t lose a good thing. Don’t privatize your healthcare system. Look back and see what it took to get you to where you are today. I just bought this book. Pick it up.

You’ll need health care eventually.

Does your candidate commit to the following principles?:

✅ Every Canadian needs access to front-line care
✅ Specialist care has to be available when needed
✅ Easy access to ERs to save lives

U.S. doctor shares his experiences working in Canada. Turns out, there’s a lot to be proud of about healthcare in 🇨🇦

E.g.: “[…] the relative absence of this pay-for-performance bureaucracy gives physicians more freedom to think critically, treat patients as individuals, and discuss options openly.”

Merkel:

Pay attention to language.

For language is the precursor to action.

Once language starts to go astray, actions quickly follow. And then violence is not far behind.
Nun bin ich wahrlich kein ausgewiesener Fan von Frau Merkel – aber: Wo sie recht hat, hat sie recht.
