Podcast: Hi, Smart Friend!
What this is a shock from Tom Cotton who has never ever written an op-Ed suggesting such leanings
WELKER: Is there any hard evidence showing this particular boat was headed to the US?

TOM COTTON: That didn't come up in my briefing

WELKER: Are you comfortable having the US target a boat that you're not sure is heading to the US?

COTTON: I'm not just comfortable with it -- I want to continue it

Matt Gaetz, James O’Keefe, and Laura Loomer have replaced the Pentagon press corps.

I am not kidding. Look at the thread below.

One of the military’s most critical lines of accountability is now a closed-circuit conspiracy carousel.

Wait I want more of this type of thing, like director's cut DVD commentary except we can see the magic being made. Fascinating!
HBOMax has started showing a 'remastered' 4K Mad Men and they’ve messed things up so during Roger’s oyster vomit scene you can now see the crew men with the vomit hose on the right

OK, NYT, I'll try to help you understand. Look at this headline. It's accurate, strictly speaking. But it also gives an impression of normalcy, when what Noem did was post on social media about banning "killers, leeches and entitlement junkies." The unrestrained hatefulness might be the story here!

Hard for me to imagine Ds winning a TN congressional seat where the R won by +22% in the last midterm

For a President to be campaigning this hard for a safe seat, either 1️⃣ the R is going to win and he wants to claim responsibility / "we have momentum back!" or 2️⃣ internal polling is *bad* bad

The Trump admin is systematically firing immigration judges across the country for no reason other their above average grant rates.

The goal is to transform an imperfect system which aimed for fairness into a rubber stamp mill, leaving only the “deportation judges” they want.
BREAKING NYT:

The Trump admin just fired eight immigration judges in New York City.

All the judges were dismissed from the immigration offices at 26 Federal Plaza — a building that houses the NYC headquarters of ICE and has become the epicenter of migrant arrests in the city.

No corporation is your friend, but it's pretty stark to watch all these corporate titans begging for Trump's favor and then Costco is out here just throwing down over and over again
Costco files suit against the government, saying the Trump tariffs are unlawful. The company wants a refund.

Others that have already filed suit: Revlon, eyeglass maker EssilorLuxottica, Kawasaki, Bumble Bee, Yokohama Tire and many smaller firms.

The President is raising rates by thousands of dollars PER FAMILY for northern Michiganders.

He’s rejecting disaster aid out of spite, just because he feels like it. His decision will cost impacted residents tens of millions of dollars and threatens our rural utility providers’ future.

3. Linking U.S. foreign policy to personal enrichment destabilizes the economy. Allies lose trust, international investment gets riskier, and it invites retaliatory protectionism. Capitalists depend on predictable rules and stable alliances.

2. Capitalists reward innovation, efficiency, and risk-taking. This “peace through profit-sharing” model enriches entrenched elites by locking in monopolistic access to resources (ie Arctic energy) and reconstruction projects.
