Both China and the European Union have slapped retaliatory tariffs on the United States.

Trump's idiotic tariffs (and his general misunderstanding of how they work) have unleashed a new global trade war.

Buckle up — because In a trade war, there are no winners. Watch

I don’t know, millions of people got in the streets a few days ago, the moderates are freaking out about their money, and the President of the United States is carrying out a wildly unpopular, intentional demolition of the economy.

Might be time for leaders with spines to actually get in the game.

Hostile political rhetoric stokes division and directly contributes to violence against migrants. We saw the outcome of the Conservatives' use of it last year with far right riots. Labour has to stop following the same path by demonising migrants.

I ran #OSHA 2009-2017, and am now often asked what will happen to #OSHA in the coming Trump administration. In this longish🧵, I try to summarize what happened during Trump I and begin to predict Trump II, recognizing that this one could be wildly different than the last one. 1/

This is happening now in Beirut.

X, as horrific as it got, is a loudspeaker for the silenced. I am still there because of it. We must get intentional about circulating the horrors in Palestine, Lebanon, Sudan if we intend to make this the just alternative.
#Israel’i air strikes just flattened these residential apartment blocks in #Beirut. You can hear shocked screams of people in the street below as the missiles hit & the buildings collapse in just seconds. This is the daily reality of life in #Lebanon’s capital now.

It's a bit depressing, just shy of 3 years in, to get confirmation that my chance of getting better, without new therapies, is nearly zero. Alas it fits with my lived experience of just getting worse with every infection, so I suppose at least helps with the gaslighting. Hurry up please, science.
Our researchers found that working days lost to long Covid could cost the economy billions yearly.

In the late 90s & early 2000s we in the UK received (very roughly) 80,000 asylum applications per year.
Mainly people escaping Balkan wars.

Today in these “unprecedented” times of “invasion” by small boat… we receive pretty much the exact same numbers.

Had you been taken in?
I wouldn’t blame you.
