Yes, killing people is generally bad. But I have no room in my heart to feel sadness for a man who made a very conscious choice to spend his entire adult life profiting from sowing division, fear and hatred, gleefully putting a target on the back of vulnerable minorities every time he spoke. Sorry!

This thread gets it. Potential Democratic candidates minmaxing the "how far under the bus can I throw trans people to increase votes w/o alienating too many?" question is absurd. If the result of the calculus is > 0, they're fucking up even if they throw Trump's tactics back at him (Newsom *cough)
This is trans rights, too. There is no viable position for the Democrats other than “trans rights are human rights.” Trying to triangulate a position where you throw trans people under the bus “just a little” to woo swing voters only feeds the right’s argument that trans people are a threat 1/x

I was trying to make a joke that mimics Sean Penn's reviled novel "Bob Honey Who Just Do Stuff" after seeing an article titled "Chat GPT5: It just does stuff". I tried this in Google's AI mode and I think I hit levels of meta-commentary I can't quite fathom here (aware of the irony, certainly).
Today's thought exercise that's taxing my cognitive ability instead of doing my actual job:
Rewriting "Not Like Us" so it's about our dog Margie.
"Why you rollin on the floor/ain't you tired?"
"Trynna get a toy/and its prolly a Bite Bear"

Our 3yo had like a hundred fuckin questions about the rules & logistics & moral implications of how mogwais become gremlins, but ZERO questions about "sometimes people change from girl to boy" or "sometimes boys marry other boys" or whatever, kids dgaf, the problem has ALWAYS been bigot ass parents
it's crazy that being like "how do i explain gay couples to my kids?" isn't an unthinkably embarrassing to say in 2025. it's actually incredibly easy to explain, that should be like indignantly saying "how am I supposed to explain to my kids where the sun goes at night? did a bird steal it?!"

So like, normally I would quibble with assigning a gendered pronoun to an AI bot, but honestly, when a string of text appears discussing white genocide a la Jar Jar Binks on twitter, I think we all know that whatever produced it is a white guy.
