#PrimaryCare A great infographic on emerging roles. In General Practice the disparate and rapidly expanding need for tailored supervision to multiple practitioner groups who are not practice-team based is overwhelming and under/ not resourced. It takes GPs away from frontline patient care.
Our research suggests that a variety of emerging roles have been introduced before significant issues have been addressed, and a much greater level of resource needs to be dedicated to role design, supervision, management and training if roles are to be successfully integrated

I’m very sad to see nursing on the list of courses to be discontinued. My thoughts are with all those affected across all disciplines. #cardiff
I had assumed that vocational degrees like nursing would have some protection as they are critical to NHS delivery and planning. The funding crisis in HE thinks otherwise.

An explainer about how health research funding happens and why this NIH funding cycle shutdown matters: www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnb...
Opinion | I’m a health researcher. NIH’s pause on research grants could have a devastating cost.
This is a potentially devastating event — not just for the scientific community, but for all Americans.

Devastating news for researchers in the US- and the global academic community.
Devastating for scientists and their research, and everyone who benefits from that research.

I’m not sure if everyone outside academia is aware that a delay or “pause” in grant funding often means the researchers themselves are lost from the field, along with their expertise.
NIH appears to have canceled/postponed all of its study sections—the independent review panels that approve federal grants for health research.

Such grants fund the work/salaries of 300k people at more than 2,500 institutions

Unsafe and undignified treatment in corridors, cupboards and car parks is not acceptable and must end.

A hospital is recruiting nurses to work 12-hour shifts in its corridors caring for sick patients stuck waiting for a bed. Adrian Boyle, president of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, said corridor care was a sign of the “total acceptance of failure” by the NHS
