Very specific internet fandom moment of the 2000s:

Back in the day, Green Day really had us "fooled" that they weren't The Network -- a new wave-inspired side project. I had no way to listen to any of their music, so I was always mystified by this niche mystery.

As soon as you hear them, though...

The positivity here is something I'll never get used to. I really hope it stays this way.

So, as some of you may know, GOG announced Dreamlist. It's basically a list of old games that you can vote to bring back next.

If you can't find a game on the list, you can add it yourself.

It's a long shot, but hey, can't hurt to try, right?

The level of excitement and wonder that filled me bc of this ad can never be replicated.

Most unforgettable Christmas ever -- PS2, Final Fantasy X, and Kingdom Hearts...

...and no memory card.

The openings of both games are practically part of my DNA.

Absolute classic.

Sick OST, great animation, fun mechanics...

It stands toe-to-toe with the best fighters in this generation.
'Bloody Roar II' was released on the PlayStation 26 years ago today in Japan.

This is actually surreal.

I remember exactly where I was when I played the first episode on release. I downloaded the demo, and I immediately had to unlock the rest of it.

Back then, I had to download games at 2am (fellow HughesNet users know the struggle), and I didn't sleep until it was over.

It's a new week, #gamingsky.

What are we playing?

Jumping between Minecraft, DBD, and Tekken 8 atm and still chipping away at Fortnite's current battle pass.

Just spent the last hour going through my final pull from my comics shop that I bought months ago. It was bittersweet to see so many stories I had to drop because my only comic store closed.

Having a comic book store was a dream I had for years. Feeling a lot of contradicting emotions about it atm.

I didn't remember this magazine by name, but I absolutely remembered this cover.

I am absolutely obsessed with this retro theme for EmulationStation. The sounds and presentation "sells" the demo disc vibe better than anything I've ever seen.

And yes, I stare at the menus more than I actually play the games. 🤣

It's truly amazing to be reminded of pieces of tech like this and seeing history repeat itself at CES.

We often don't know what we have until it's gone.

This.

It's equally sad when poor craftsmen weaponize their large followings against smaller creators just to get the easy "slam dunk" if they have a dissenting opinion.

It's all so tiresome because certain algorithms reward this type of behavior.
I see too many people in my industry get caught up in the idea that social media following = career success and skill and that is so far from it. Social “clout” and craft skill are the farthest thing from one another. Spend that time bettering your work.
way too many people still see follower count as a status symbol of prestige or importance when it's really better understood as the unfortunate, burdensome side effect of trying too hard to make like 8 specific people laugh
