this white house actively treats a large swath of americans as disloyal and outside the political community and it doesn’t merit so much as a peep from the political press

this is another good reason why the debate era is over. splitting hairs over tax revenue numbers at this point goes nowhere. the real reason is that the extremely rich require a practical limit on the impunity and power that money can purchase
the "tax the billionaires" political refrain is Good Actually in part because it is a call for the people at the top to actually be constrained by rules informed by the public interest, a virtue that fingerwagging correctives about how much revenue such taxes would *really* generate doesn't address

Have you ever wondered if government leaders are writing things with ChatGPT?

Through records requests, I obtained thousands of pages of chat histories from city officials in Washington.

The logs show widespread use of AI — with little transparency:

I think these are great datapoints, but it’s really kind of noteworthy that AMR, the progressive everyone knows about, is pulling nearly 80% and didn’t get a moderate opponent of note
With just 800 ballots left to count in King County, the results are pretty well set:
Wilson > Harrell by 9.5 points
Foster > Nelson by 23 points
Evans > Davison by 22.5 points

Just about the worst case scenario if you're a City Hall moderate and a huge wind in the sails of the once-floundering left
