Invoking Lucy-tricks-Charlie symbolism does capture a decades-long pattern in bad faith negotiations by GOP.

Still, the metaphor has a limit.

The members of Congress caving are in the 100-person chamber DESIGNED with goals distinct from advancing what is best for the people.

We should also pass legislation defining, criminalizing, & giving victims recourse against enforced disappearance, like what ICE is doing now, to stem law enforcement imposters.

The more that real ICE gets away with, the more fake ICE will try.

Just wild how shameless, even boastful, the ultra wealthy are about posting these “wins” in a context where the GOP champions cutting SNAP support & SNAP recipients exist because wages are awful.

Reflecting on how the ugly this experience sows in this baby’s life will be matched, perhaps surpassed by the ugly that this experience sows in the hearts of the agents who left him.

Trauma will fester in the relationships that those agents care most about, too. Because nobody wins from cruelty.
Multiple accounts on ICE Watch Facebook pages are reporting that agents pulled a couple out of their vehicle in Aurora, Illinois, arrested them, and then abandoned the couple’s toddler in the backseat.

Casting racialized experiences as a relay race story is very helpful & very effective as a tool for teaching multiple concepts & public policy debates. I really appreciate how the story lands on interrogating the people who reject staggered starts.

Why aren’t you a champion of fairness?
Let’s talk about race…No not that one. But also that one

In my family we refer to young children as tlacuaches, and only use two tones when doing so: one when they are rascals and the other when they are cherubs. So fitting.
