I'm pretty sure @malcolmkenyatta.bsky.social is young, and will work to build the grow the Party.

But for some of y'all, it has to be David Hogg...or else...why is that.

@laurenunderwood.bsky.social is younger than AOC, but for some it has to AOC...or else.

Why is that?

I love paying TurboTax a few hundred bucks every year to figure out how much money I owe the government, which the government already knows, but won't tell me because TurboTax pays legislators to keep the government from telling me. 😻

Bingo. Trumpcession — pass it on
So many hundreds of thousands of words of ink, so many countless hours wasted, explaining how this man was secretly savvy, and it turns out he’s just dumb as a rock, clueless about basic economics, and driven by a malicious paranoia that conniving foreigners are ripping us off
Trump: "I spoke to a lot of leaders -- European, Asian, from all over the world. They are dying to make a deal, but I said 'we're not gonna have deficits with your country' ... to me a deficit is a loss. We're gonna have surpluses or at worst we're gonna be breaking even."

the constitution says you must be 35 to be eligible to serve as president. now, let’s say a presidential nominee was born on february 29, 1972, a leap year. and let’s say they were running in 2024. now, technically, they would only be 13. you could say they were ineligible. but that’s stupid! (1)

Isn’t that money laundering?
I have so many questions about this. The main one being: wasn’t xAI, which is now apparently worth $80bn, originally part of X? So he spun it out to himself and now is using it to buy back the remaining business, mostly from himself.

They’re not going to get out of this by playing semantics.

Sending detailed information about an upcoming military strike on unclassified channels (and even to the wrong guy) is wrong, reckless, and obviously a threat to American troops.

I want us to study the history of resistance to slave catchers right now. I want us to study how slave catchers worked, how they were sanctioned, who paid them, and why they did what they did, right now. I want us to study the hyperlocal and networked ways slave catchers were impeded. Right now.

Not getting much attention, but the Senate GOP is about to start voting - to make sure banks can charge higher overdraft fees. Seriously.

Good time to let your Senators know what you think of that.

Aside from the security breaches, incompetence, and full on fascistic cos-playing… this is how they actually talk to each other… about military action. With the fist bumps and “dudes” and emojis. WTF?!
Good lord what a bunch of liars and incompetents. Also, as an aside. who sets their disappearing messages to 4 weeks if they want to avoid accountability? Also, @jeffreygoldberg.bsky.social is a badass.

Basically, the far right accurately identified the weak point in liberal democracy: mainstream media institutions that were collapsing and therefore easy to purchase or pressure, combined with a public that got most of its information from an almost totally unstructured info ecosystem.

“80% of my children survived” is not the ringing endorsement the antivax movement thinks it is
How firm is the hold of antivax beliefs?

From the parents of the 6 year old unvaccinated child who died of measles:

“Don’t do the shots,” the girl’s mother said. Measles, she added, is “not as bad as they’re making it out to be.” She noted that her four other children all recovered…
How the anti-vaccine movement weaponized a 6-year-old’s measles death

They're called public records for a reason. Starting today, WIRED will *stop paywalling* articles that are primarily based on public records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, becoming the first publication to partner with @freedom.press to offer this for our new coverage.
Wired is dropping paywalls for FOIA-based reporting. Others should follow
As the administration does its best to hide public records from the public, Wired magazine is stepping up to help stem the secrecy

If you use cutesy nicknames like Drumph, or Orange Shitler… all you’re telling me is that you are not a serious person. It’s a form of normalizing and it makes real life things seem like a cartoon. Stop doing that.
