and maybe if I were to make something like this then the most gribbly and gromdonkish way to depict the goblins would be to make them out of plasticine and photograph them rather than draw them.

A common mistake many new writers make is crafting a character and then, without story justification or world building to support it, making them heterosexual. This leaves readers confused & takes them out of the story.
