Exquisite Roman glass cup signed by master glassmaker ‘Ennion’. AD 30-70.

Ennion was the first glassmaker to ‘brand’ his work by incorporating his name into the mould’s design, some 2000 years ago!

53 years ago, on the 7th of December 1972, the last Apollo mission was launched. The famous 'The Blue Marble' picture was taken by members of the crew as they left earth. The Apollo 17 mission ended on December 19th. On board were Eugene Cernan, Ronald Evans and Harrison Schmitt. #otd #history 🗃️

One small advantage that we near-sighted people have is we can take off our glasses and the Christmas tree turns into a mass of fuzzy colored balls. In a way, we get two trees in one!

After all my struggle putting lights on my outdoor tree, they're suddenly not working. Argh!! It's not the outlet, it's not the timer. So it's got to be either the extension cord or one of the light strings. Now I get to take apart the strings tomorrow to try and figure it out. 😖

The Belsnickel (Pelznickel or Bell Sniggle) is the cantankerous, Christmas gift-bringer in German and Pennsylvania Dutch folklore. Dressed in tattered furs, the old man carries a switch to frighten naughty kids and pockets full of sweets to reward the good.

To bring a smile to your face, here’s an ancient Egyptian sketch of a tabby cat serving a mouse! 😁

The artist used a flake of limestone as a sketchpad to draw this comic scene some 3,200 years ago.
