One of our coalition members, the Action Committee for Transit, came to support the great businesses on Bonifant Street this morning. They are open and will be highly accessible via the Purple Line Silver Spring library station, but in the meantime, we could use your support.

Starting in just a few minutes at 6 pm is the University Blvd Purple Line community advisory team meeting. It's been a long, hard journey, but the track in Prince George's county is now completely laid.

Currently under construction, the Purple Line is a 16-mile light rail transit system with 21 stations running east to west, connecting Prince George’s and Montgomery counties in the state of Maryland.

Purple Line light rail vehicles are running to an actual station as part of testing! This testing runs from 9 pm to 5 am and started with New Carrollton.

The original testing was limited to the one one-milemile test track at the Glenridge Operations and Maintenance facility.
