Last night we celebrated the end of our course and the birth four books. We're especially proud of our fellow students; Cerys D'Arcy, winner of best all-round publishing student and Anna Morete, winner of most promising editor. We wish next year's ākonga all the best for 2026.

We're SO proud that our Editor (Māori) Jasmine Sargent was recognised as a publisher trailblazer at the Book Industry Awards last night! 🎉 The judges said Jas stood out in a very strong category: ‘She has carved out an important cultural role, providing a safe harbour, and caring for her authors.'

At Whitireia Publishing, we've now wrapped up our first publisher meetings of the year! One of our project teams is working with the superstars at The Cuba Press, pictured. Our ākonga have thoroughly enjoyed meeting with the publishers and are getting stuck into project mahi.

A massive thank you to Lift Education for having us on Monday to discuss their work in educational publishing both here in Aotearoa and throughout the Pacific. It was also exciting to see all of their School Journals from the 1940s to now!
