Mass starvation. Ethnic cleansing. Genocide.

That is what our government is enabling — and it should be eternally ashamed.

End all arms sales to Israel now.

This is what fascism looks like, folks
Video of the international student at Tufts being arrested by "federal authorities" in Massachusetts has been released and it's terrifying.

They're not even uniformed officers. Just secret police thugs in hoodies and masks.

Fossil interests have funded politics to undermine climate action for decades.
See my @WorldDevJournal paper for fossil lobbies pressuring US politicians into backtracking on international climate commitments well before Trump:

Returned journal paper without review as author conversing with converted. In refs to lit, acronyms etc., assumption that we know their canon.
'Canon building is empire building': Toni Morrison. In politics, teaching, writing, academics need to question & dismantle empire, not shore it up.

Back to school after more than a year of horror, many lost classmates, and most schools bombed to rubble.
Meanwhile girls in Afghanistan are still not in school.
Children in Gaza go back to school
Students in Gaza have gone back to school. Many are learning in classrooms scarred by damage inflicted by the war.

Received pages of constructive comments from 3 journal reviewers. Academia is being squeezed by narrowing public budgets, right wing suspicion of education, and degrees as credentialisation. But mad respect for so many people I'm honoured to call colleagues, even the anonymous ones.

So this is how empires fall. One bad leader after the next, takeover by oligarchic cliques, backing war and genocide, antagonising allies, losing in the trade and production stakes to rising powers and losing their s*** in the process.

Disappointing editorial from
@indianexpress.com
Calling Opp leader "petulant" fits Pappu propaganda.
As a scholar, I'd go into layeredness of the state in hour long lecture.
RG equating compromised institutions with "the state" in party speech is unremarkable.

Express View: From Rahul Gandhi, a disquieting petulance
By equating BJP government with state, opposing latter, he does a disservice to Leader of Opposition office

Ugly pushback against the small gains made with movements such as Black Lives Matter and Rhodes Must Fall, which began in the global cores of slavery and apartheid.
Even the rallying call 'anti-woke' is telling. It demeans African American lingo around the revolutionary ideas of awakening, uprising
‘It is not just Elon – Dom is in constant contact with major Silicon Valley figures, who are becoming increasingly anti-woke’.

Sources said Mr Cummings and Mr Musk were exchanging ideas via a WhatsApp group shared with an unidentified American businessman

The centre can't out-Right the Right. The Centre leans Rightward, and its constituency is poached.
Liberals across institutional spaces attempting to 'meet other side halfway'. Result is validation of Right's performative agendas of being 'marginalised/minoritised', Hindu-phobia, Christian-bans, etc
